£50 prize survey launched to help shape public transport after lockdown

Members of the public are being urged to fill in an online survey to help plan for the future of transport following the Covid-19 lockdown.

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and partners, including train, tram and bus operators, are drawing up plans for services after the lockdown is gradually lifted and more people return to work.

During lockdown it is likely that habits will have changed permanently with more people working from home, shopping locally and taking fewer leisure trips.

So people in the West Midlands are being urged to fill in the survey and tell us how they think their daily commute will change as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

Those who complete the form by 9am on Monday, May 11 can enter a prize draw and could win one of three £50 Amazon vouchers.

The survey results will not only help plan services but also shape public information campaigns to ensure physical distancing for the protection of staff and passengers.

Laura Shoaf, managing director for TfWM, said:

Nothing will be the same after the Covid-19 pandemic and that includes our public transport network There will be new commuting patterns and strict rules on physical distancing to observe. But we will still need bus, train and tram services to get people to work or the shops, visit loved ones and attend appointments efficiently and safely. The more people who fill in this survey, the better we can understand what will be needed as we plan our recovery.”
