Last Chance to Push the Boat Out in Dudley
Make the most of the late Bank Holiday heatwave and get on the water for free at Dudley Sailing Club on Sunday (27 May).
With the forecast for sunshine and temperatures in the mid-20°C, Dudley SC, near Netherton, will be opening their doors from 12pm for you and your family to get afloat as they host the final Black Country event of this year’s national RYA Push The Boat Out ‘try sailing’ initiative.
All kit and safety equipment is provided so bring a pair of old trainers you don’t mind getting wet and your sense of adventure and fun.
Gareth Brookes, RYA Regional Development Officer for the Midlands, said:
We’ve enjoyed a fantastic Push The Boat Out this year and the weather has been, and is set to remain, fantastic for the final events over Bank Holiday. Could anything be better than to cool down and spend time on the water? So many people still don’t realise how easy it can be to get into sailing locally, and that you don’t even need to own a boat as clubs and centres have ones you can borrow or hire. Once you’ve learned the ropes, you can sail on your own or with your partner, friends or kids in dinghies or big boats, inland or on the coast. And after a great day on the water, nothing beats having a drink by the water on warm summer evenings.”

Almost 400 venues across the UK are inviting people to Push The Boat Out throughout May.
Over 22,000 people regularly go along to their local sailing club every month across the Midlands, sailing small sailboats or windsurfing.
