DEADLINE FOR INDEPENDENT BOARD MEMBER RECRUITMENT EXTENDED

We are extending the closing date for applications until 5pm on 14 February 2014.

Could you play a leading role in the work needed to make the Black Country a more active and successful sporting area, and in doing inspire a Black Country generation to be active?

 We want to hear from people wishing to join the Strategic Black Country BeActive Partnership Board, who have strong leadership qualities and skills along with a passion for improving sport and physical activity and its contribution to the Black Country economic, education, public health and employment and skills priorities.

Opportunities have arisen for the recruitment of a new Chair and up to 5 new independent Board Members to drive the development of the Black Country BeActive Partnership - the Government and Sport England recognised County Sports Partnership.

We recognise the scale of the challenge faced by many of our partners, but with increased investment into school and community sport and activity for health and wellbeing, we know there has never been a more important time for the Black Country to turn our vision into reality through providing strong leadership for sport and physical activity.

If you are interested, we want to hear from you. Applicants will need interest and experience in at least one of the following areas:

          1. Voluntary and Community   
          2. Investment, Sponsorship and Financial planning
          3. Public Health     
          4. Marketing and Communications
          5. Commercial and Private Sector  
          6. Business Planning and Strategy
          7. Community Sport    
          8. School/Academies and Further Education
          9. Performance Sport    
          10. Equity and Social Inclusion
          11. Governance and Accountability        

You will need to either live or work in the Black Country and have an understanding, or strong interest in issues affecting the development of sport and physical activity in a range of settings, experience of strong partnership working, and an ability to make things happen.

Experience of working on a Board or Committee is essential.

Positions are non-Executive and are not salaried but expenses will be reimbursed. 

An independent appointments panel is running the selection process and the closing date for applications and interview dates are listed below:
  • 14th Feb 2014 - Closing date for Independent Board Member applications 
  • TBC - Interviews for Board Independent Members

explaining your interest and motivation in applying for your chosen role and what you believe you can contribute to the Black Country BeActive Partnership.
