Sandwell Clubs Invited to Get a Slice of Funding

The Sandwell Disability Activation Fund has been established to help and support more people stay and get involved in sport.

Local sports clubs and other organisations that deliver in Sandwell have the opportunity to bid to the fund for a maximum of £1,000 per application to increase opportunities for young people and adults with a disability aged 14+ to get into and stay involved in sport. Round 2 funding now available.

Sandwell Disability Activation Fund is a new partnership initiative with Black Country BeActive Partnership.

Sandwell Disability Activation Fund projects must meet the following criteria:

All projects must target participants with a disability age 14+ and or families who support these individuals.

Must be for a sport or activity with a Sport England recognised governing body.

Must support projects that are delivered in Sandwell.

Must have a clear exit route for engaged participants.

Must have a cash or in-kind contribution.

Recipient organisations must undertake specified monitoring of their project and report back to SLT.

Multiple applications from individual organisations can be considered but no more than 2 projects per organisation will be funded in any 12 month period.

The aims of the Sandwell Disability Activation Fund are:
To support more people with disabilities to participate in regular physical activity and sport across their life course.
To reduce inactivity levels in young people and adults with disabilities.
To support projects that encourage more community access for sports and physical activity sessions at local schools and colleges.
To reduce the levels of obesity and risk of obesity in young people and adults with disabilities.
