Sportivate Funding Round NOW OPEN

The Black Country BeActive Partnership is looking to provide funding to a range of organisations who want to help kick start a generation to get active. Whether your organisation is a youth, education, sport, community or employment focused enterprise we would be keen to talk to you about the Sportivate programme and how its funding can support you to deliver sports activities for the young people you work with.

We are pleased to announce the opening of Round 5 of Sportivate funding to run sports coaching projects for 11 - 25 year olds across the Black Country. The Funding is available for projects that will run between October 2013 March 2014.

Sportivate is a 6 - 8 week programme, managed by Black Country Consortium Ltd, on behalf of Sport Englands Places People Play initiative that is funded by the National Lottery. It aims to capture the excitement of sport by providing attractive and sustainable sporting opportunities for participants in the sport of their choice within their community. The programme focuses on the delivery of coaching and guiding participants into regular participation.

All participants in projects must be age 11 to 25 years old and semi sporty (those who would not prioritise sport in their own time or those who are doing sport for a very limited amount of time). Sportivate is fully inclusive and targets participants across this group, including young people who have a disability, both males and females and participants from BME groups.

Organisations can apply for a maximum of 3,000 of funding to retain young people in sporting activities during the 6- 8 week programme and support them into your local club or alternative sports provision to continue their participation in the longer term.

For further information on the programme, the Black Country Priorities and guidance on how to apply please visit our Sportivate webpage.

Round 5 will close at 5pm on 8th July 2013
