The Future of Sport, Employment and Skills

Why Sports Media Group in association with Black Country Consortium and the Black Country BeActive Partnership are proud to present "The Future of Sport, Employment, Skills and Apprenticeships 2016"

This much needed conference will provide a platform to network and evaluate the Government's Active Nation Strategy. The Active Nation strategy questions the continual focus on technical qualifications and the need to make sport an attractive career option for the brightest and most able individuals across the UK. The strategy pushes the further and higher education sector to ensure graduates are of high quality and have the right skill set for employers, and sees apprenticeships as the key mechanism to realise a sport workforce with the right skills.

Leaders from Central and Local Government, Sport England, academia, employers, the private sector and the many associated agencies will meet on the 13th September 2016 at the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Molineux Stadium to consider the necessary employment and skills interventions and the vast opportunities for the sport sector, whilst debating the readiness of the sector to determine its employment demand led priorities.

Subjects covered on the day include:-

        • The Government's employment and skills priorities and impact on the sport sector.
        • The Government's and Sport England's workforce strategy and priorities
        • Employment and skills interventions and the opportunities for the sport sector
        • The readiness of the sector to determine its employment demand led priorities
        • How sport and physical activity can deliver the Government's Apprenticehip Challenge
